Clear terms for using secapi.dev's SEC filings platform.
Last updated: July 7, 2026
By accessing or using secapi.dev, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
You represent that you are at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, and that you have authority to enter into these terms.
secapi.dev provides live and near-real-time access to SEC filings data, including Form 4, Form 13F, Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and other EDGAR disclosures.
We collect, parse, normalize, structure, and deliver this data through APIs and product interfaces to help users move faster than manual EDGAR workflows.
You are responsible for your account, credentials, and API keys. Keep all authentication information confidential.
You may not share credentials or keys with unauthorized parties. We may revoke or suspend access if account security or usage rules are violated.
Your plan determines what you may do with data retrieved from secapi.dev. Two rights matter: commercial use and redistribution.
Commercial use means using the data inside a product, service, analysis, or business workflow — including products you charge for. Examples: a stock screener your customers pay for, dashboards and alerts shown to your users, internal research at a fund, or an AI application that answers questions using the data. Commercial use is included on every paid plan (Lite, Pro, and Enterprise). The free tier is licensed for evaluation and personal, non-commercial projects only.
Redistribution means passing the data itself downstream: reselling or sublicensing datasets, offering the data through your own API, providing bulk exports to third parties, or white-labeling secapi.dev data as your own data product. Redistribution requires an Enterprise plan with a redistribution license.
The dividing line: if your users see insights, screens, charts, or answers powered by the data, that is commercial use. If your users receive the data itself as a substitute for a secapi.dev subscription, that is redistribution.
You may use secapi.dev only in compliance with applicable law and these Terms. Abuse, misuse, or exploitative usage is prohibited.
secapi.dev owns all rights in the platform, software, documentation, APIs, and branding. SEC source filings remain available from public sources, but our processing, structure, and product implementations are protected intellectual property.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, secapi.dev is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to secapi.dev in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or creates platform risk.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes may be communicated by email, product notice, or website posting.
Continued use of secapi.dev after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
secapi.dev is a data platform, not an advisor. Nothing in our APIs, interface outputs, parsing layers, alerts, or derived fields is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.
You are solely responsible for any decision made using information from secapi.dev and should consult qualified professionals before acting.
All data is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, continuity, sequence, or timeliness.
Programmatic collection and parsing may include errors, lag, or transient inconsistencies due to source updates, filing anomalies, mapping rules, and technical conditions.
secapi.dev does not provide uptime commitments or uninterrupted access guarantees unless expressly stated in a signed enterprise agreement.
Outages, ingestion delays, real-time feed interruptions, and temporarily missing data may occur, and users accept these operational realities.
secapi.dev is registered in Estonia. Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@secapi.dev .
